Coaching Resources

March 31, 2020

There are some great online resources available for soccer coaches to help us better connect with our athletes, enhance our tactical awareness and history of the game as well as watching replays from leagues and tournaments all over the world. I have linked some of them below. Dan Watkins also put on a great webinar last Saturday for CHSCA coaches and you should have all received a link with the presentation. If you did not, please let me know.  I am certain there are many more out there and if you know of some that you feel would be highly valuable for our members, please let me know and I will forward them on to the group.
John O’Sullivan, Jerry Lynch and James Leath are hosting a 6 week Coaching Mentorship Course. I have done multiple workshops with these guys and I cannot say enough positive things about them, I have learned so much from their courses! There are 3 price points for this course, all three get the same benefits. Click the link below for more information.

The International Champions Cup is featuring full game replays all week. Most games are from this past summer.

The folks at United Soccer Coaches are offering webinars on various topics throughout the month. You can click on older webcasts and watch the replays or sign up to join live. Topics range from “history of formations” to “conversations with former players”.

Lastly, I want to share something I saw this morning that I will be discussing with my program today and maybe you will want to share with your players as well. There are 5 things they can control this week
1: Schedule time to Practice 2: How hard you practice3: Recording your practice (journal, video, email to coach or teammates…) 4: Watching Games or Highlights5: Email coach or feedback or more ideas
I hope you are all healthy and are finding time to connect with your teams but also taking the time for yourself (mindfulness and development). I encourage all of you to reach out to the other  coaches in your league and see how they are doing and what they are up to with their teams. Sharing ideas and collaborating with our colleagues may spark the next big idea for us as coaches!
